Funding

Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași manages funds for both its incoming and outgoing grantees within the Erasmus+ Partner Countries scholarship project. Grantees are provided funding for:

1. Individual support (monthly subsistence)
2. Travel costs (international transportation)

1. Individual support (monthly subsistence)

According to the Erasmus+ financial regulations foreseen by the Erasmus+ Programme Guide, the amounts for individual support for Erasmus+ grantees are the following:

The individual support will be transferred by the financial office of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași directly to the grantees’ bank accounts (opened in Euro in a Romanian bank).

2. Travel costs (international transportation)

Based on the travel distance per participant, students and staff going to/coming from Partner Countries will receive the following top-up amounts, to support them in covering their travel costs:

Between 100 and 499 KM: 180 EUR per participant 180 EUR per participant

Between 2000 and 2999 KM: 360 EUR per participant 360 EUR per participant
Between 3000 and 3999 KM: 530 EUR per participant 530 EUR per participant
Between 4000 and 7999 KM: 820 EUR per participant 820 EUR per participant
8000 KM or more: 1100 EUR per participant 1500 EUR per participant

Travel distances must be calculated using the distance calculator supported by European Commission (http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm). The distance of a one-way travel must be used to calculate the amount of EU grant that will support the round trip.

The amount for the travel costs will be transferred by the financial office of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași directly to the grantees’ bank accounts (opened in Euro in a Romanian bank).

Erasmus+ students will not be charged any tuition fees at the host university. Students will continue paying their tuition and/or registration fees in their home university but the host university must apply a fee waiver policy.
